I am in need of a carburetor for my little 1965 Johnson 3hp.(jw-20b) The old boy I got the motor from broke off the tabs on the high speed jet and then tried to used a back-out tool that didn't work. Then he drilled out the jet with an oversize bit and the motor will not run on high speed. Starts and idles fine but no high speed. Thank for any help with Links, web-sites, E-mail addresses of known suppliers or individuals that can help. I would appreciate any help. Thanks, BrazosDon

I talked to Dallin at iboats.com this morning and he helped me with the part numbers and prices he had on the Johnson jw-20b and some phone numbers of the mfg and phone numbers of some local dealers here in Texas that might be able to help. He was very nice and willing to help. When I got off the phone, I checked my email and heard form Ferguson-Poole Marine. They are mostly a Mercury parts source but they actually did some research on the little 3hp motor and sent some parts diagrams and the results of their search. Joe Poole, Jr was great to do this for me. Many thanks guys with your suggestions.

3/23/12: Added note, my local repair guy fixed my motor to get me by for $40.00. Going out on the Brazos tomorrow for a test run.

Got my motor back on Friday. Only $40.00. Took it to the river on Saturday and ran it all day on the 12ft jon boat, ran like a champ. David, my outboard specialist, said the the 60lb compression was standard from the factory. I was happy with the motor. I am going to try it on the canoe next. Ought to be fun.
