The motor upgrade from the Merc 50hp 4 stroke to a Yamaha 115hp 4 stroke is done.
So I took the Bayrunner Baja out for a shake down cruise out to the San Joaquin river in the Sacramento Delta with my pup this morning and am very satisfied on how she handled with the motor.
I may have to re-prop because at WOT is only at 5600 rpm and it should be closer to 6K rpm but she did hit 40 mph…oh Mama!! :
Plan to take her to Melones, the local lake to familiarize myself with the Scotties before hitting the Big Blue.
Life is good.
I did drop my line to troll just to get a feel of the rod holder’s position and how slow it'll go to drag a deep diver Yozuri.
My new fishing partner’s first time on board. He did real good, even barked at a buoy marker.
