Mississauga Bassmasters opening day tourney

Yesterday was opening bass day for us north of the border. My clubs first tournament took place on Island Lake in Orangeville Ontario.

Weather conditions were mainly cloudy, very windy with 67-70 degree water. I must say I was super nervous because this was my first tournament where the limit was 5 bass.

I used my flippin stick and my frog rod all day and managed a total of 7 keepers with the best 5 coming in at just over 15lbs. That was good enough for the win and a $700 cheque. I still haven't wiped the smile off my face

I did get 2 on a frog. The rest on Berkley Havoc Pit Boss.

It was an open tourney, so I asked my little brother to fish it with me. He caught 1 bass that didn't quite make the cut.
