As I sat on the hospital bed with an over night bag the nurse came in the room pushing a wheel chair. She asked if I was ready to go home to which I replied, “Yes”.
Here’s how the conversation went:
Nurse: Come sit in the wheel chair.
Me: Not necessary, I can walk
Nurse: Hospital policy is that you have to be wheeled to the front door.
Me: Well if it’s policy, then I’ll do as you say.
We get to the front door when she asked:
Nurse: Is your wife picking you up and driving you home?
Me: No, I’m driving.
Nurse: If she’s not picking you up, then where is she?
Me: She’s upstairs in the bathroom changing from the hospital gown to her clothes.
