    Gas Tank placement

It does seem to plow. The boat runs good, I guess it just seems like it would be better with a little more weight in the rear. Here's a video of the boat running as is. Thanks for the advice guys! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTTArlS1F54

    Gas Tank placement

I have a jet boat conversion that I'd like to make a few changes to. The fuel tank is really far forward, and I'm thinking about moving it to the rear of the boat, along with the trolling motor battery. The tank is a 12 gallon tank. I love the fact that its a stick steer boat, but at 200 and...

Thanks for the replies! I'm hoping to pick it up Saturday. I really like the boat. I thinks it's 54" across the bottom. =D>

    Starcraft Seafarer Owners

I'm looking to buy myself a Starcraft SeaFarer this week, and I have a question. How stable of a boat is it? I will be fishing on the Coosa River in NW Ga, and a couple of bigger lakes here (Allatoona and Carters Lake) Allatoona gets pretty choppy, but I like to be off the water before the...

    Prop Cavitation/Ventilation (pic added)

That's where I've been running it and it wants to cavitate/ventilate in the upper rpms, even in a straight line. I've checked the prop and it's ok. I made a plate that bolts to the cavitation plate and it helped a LOT, but it still wants to rev up without increasing speed at a certain point. I...

    Prop Cavitation/Ventilation (pic added)

Thanks so much for the replies! It's dark here now, but I will get a pic tomorrow that shows the position of the cav plate and the bottom of the boat!

    Prop Cavitation/Ventilation (pic added)

I have a question for you guys. I have a short shaft motor on a 20" transom and buying a long shaft motor is not an option right now. I took the motor out for the first time and at about half throttle, the rpms came up, but the speed didn't. I added a homebuilt "compression plate" and it helped...

I want to modify my Alumacraft.

The last pic is of the little rascal that started all this. He/She made an escape in the boat and wasn't found until the deck was removed. :LOL2: The others are are of the open boat. I will be wearing out the search button to plan my next move! BTW...Removing the deck was something I've wanted...

I want to modify my Alumacraft.

I've been wanting to do this for a while now. I had to remove the wood from the rear deck today to dig out a shad that made its escape #-o . I will jump into car mods head first, but I've never really done much tin modding. I think it will work out, and if it doesn't, Bassboy1 is pretty close :LOL2:

I want to modify my Alumacraft.

I am in need of advice and motivation guys. I lurk here often, but rarely post. I have a 1985 Alumacraft Maverick that I enjoy the heck out of, my "problem" is that I LOVE to fish for Hybrids and Stripers and I would like to remove the rear deck from the boat. I would leave the front deck because...

    Mercontrol Unit trouble

I have an older Mercury outboard with the 2 lever Mercontrol unit. I don't know if this is right or not, but I have to pull the throttle lever toward me for forward, and away from me for reverse. It is a 1971 unit, I can't seem to find any info, so I decided to ask the experts

    Alumacraft or Tracker 1436 **UPDATE**

Bugpac I'm out in the big city of Hiram! Right now, my fiance and I fish out of an OLD 1440 fiberglass jon boat. We went to Sweetwater State Park and rented a 1436 Alumacraft boat (her idea) and she hated it. It wasn't bad to me, but definitely not as stable as the boat we have now. We have...

    Alumacraft or Tracker 1436 **UPDATE**

Thanks for the replies! I was leaning toward the Alumacraft, so that's the route I'm going. Academy Sports definitely has the best deal on 'em. Heaven knows I would like to have the 1442, but the price jump between the two is too much for me. I've looked around for a used 1442 but I haven't had...

    Alumacraft or Tracker 1436 **UPDATE**

Hi guys and gals! I have a decision to make! I am looking to buy myself a jon boat this weekend and these are my two choices, the Tracker Topper or Alumacraft 1436. I'm still looking, but I think the Alumacraft is a bit wider at the top. I've seen the Tracker at a State Park near me, and I...
