I just picked up a Yamaha 40 hp this evening, and looking to maybe get some more info about them. Does anyone have a good web page resource for the Yamahas? I've never owned one, but couldnt pass up the deal. I have heard they are GREAT motors, so i'm deffinitly excited to get it in the water! It needs to have the carbs synced on it, other than thats, its in great shape! Any info would be great. Thanks.

I have a Mariner 87 but they were made by Yamaha.
It's cheaper for me to buy Yamaha parts then Mariner/Mercury but my parts are interchangable.
When I wanted to find out what year the putboard was I went to this site.

I've got a 40hp yamaha too and it is a great motor. I've not had any problems. As far as the carbs they have a linkage that "syncs" them. Do you mean that you need to have them tuned?

I don't have a web site to go to. My father and I own a fiberglass repair shop and we do business with several dealers and marine shops, so getting parts for me is easy.
