First... let me say, what an awesome sight here.

I have learned tones of info, and am not as paranoid at the task I have at
hand regarding the project boat I found.

I have not found out much about the "Aluminum Goods" 14ft boat I now own ,
but i loved it the second I seen it.

Boat, trailer and 25 Johnson that aledgedly works $700.00

Bought it in town, the tire was flat the next day, glad I wasn't on a highway !!!

Short story
The pics you see are "as is" it was purchsed

The boat originaly had a steering wheel set up and has been removed.
The only evidence can be seen on the front pic showing the consol attach brackets on the side walls.
There is also a back shelf that was bolted on the transom that probably hid the pulleys and wiring.
I might actually use a chunk to help stabalize the transom.sorry no pic

The rear view pic shows the transom and where the original floor height would be.

The rail - outside pic, is the one that creeps me out...I don't know if the 1-3/8" x 1/2" channel on the
top of the sidewall had just Rub rail , or some kind of aluminum inlay...or both.

The walls definately need shoring up, as they would fold up quite easily.

Anyway, learned not to use preasure treated for a floor (Thank you)

I want...I mean ...I WILL fix this boat up with additional aluminum brackets etc.

Would like to have two bench seats (will help to stabalize the sides) and holes in the floor for seats
that sit on pipes for fishin'

I have had it long enough to get all the crap that was in it out, as well as drain the water.
(Yep..she holds water).

Looking forward to picking your brains to guide me through this project.

Best Regard's
cjh

That's a good price for that boat and outboard combination. Have you checked the hull integrity for leaks? Good luck on your project!

Thanks for the reply.

You know it's funny, I have been so busy with work, camping, and life in general, that
the only thing I have acomplished so far is replacing the transom.

I used fir plywood, but instead of a parallel board that is shown in one of the pic's,
I fitted a new transom with high spot blueing, so that it fit's the upper profile of the
aluminum back rail and routered the edge so that the actual back wall of the boat still fit's
in the groove of the extruded aluminum "top cap"

I burned a lot of time and beer getting it looking and fitting good.

As I told my wife..."that's one handsome transom"

I have ordered a tent/garage so I can play during the winter.

And no...have not taken it for a float yet, but plan on reinforceing the gunnel/rub rail area
during the winter, then take it for a float come spring.

If it floats , then I will start on the floor.

Regards
Chris
