night fishing 8/15

[Ouachita]

Hit the lake Friday night for catfish. Night fishing is the only way to go with the Texas heat. Got out on the water around 8:30 and fished until 1:00. Used cut shad I cast netted from the boat ramp. 6 keepers. Biggest was a 5lb flathead. No monsters but still a good night.

No monsters, but some good eaters! It's nice to have a "mix", a few for the pan & a few to brag about......but still a good nights fishing :wink:

The south is littered with restaurants that do nothing but cook catfish.

I have a freezer full of them, myself.
