I’d use a good rivet, maybe a high sheer 1/4” one. Screws loosen up over time, as the threads act like ‘teeth’ and keep cutting every time the boat/structure moves.

Use oversize head, aluminum pop rivet with stainless mandrel if you can find them. Rivets lay flat on the floor where most screws are going to stick up a little. 3/16" is fine for most applications. One could get crazy and use Panelbond but that stuff ain't cheap--and it's more or less permanent.

Didnt even thing about the screws doing that.

I found a place called Hanson rivet and ordered both 1/4" and 3/16" high strength rivets for different sections of the support structure.

These are their Q rivets and are aluminum with a steel mandrel.

Ill report back when I get them in and have done a couple up for future reference.
