Hello to all. I live in east TN and am having problems trying to stock my small pond with fish. Been catching a few and putting them in here and there.Problem is a crane or blue herron not sure wich it is,staying around all the time eating my fish.I think they are protected so I can,t kill...
Hello to all. Im helping my cousin set up his new jon boat. Wew are looking at getting a wireless controlled trolling motor. Our concern is how fast does it rotate when you make a turn. Example whould be like when you get hung up on some trees and you go over near shore to get untangled with a...
Thanks for the input. My cousin already bought an older bass boat for the motor a 115 Johnson.I told him I thought around 85hp would be plenty. We,re going to use it for catfishing on the Tennessee river. Thats one reason he got such a big boat because some of the boats that pass you while...
My cousin has ordered a 20 ft Xpress jon boat. It is rated at 115hp with console. The boat is open in the middle but plans are to build a livewell. My question is does a 115 sound like to much? And how fast do you think it would run on the water? Thanks,Brian.
I have a 81 model 15hp Evinrude. I think they,re the same as a Johnson. I got a deal in mine at $275. It runs great, starts easily and is light and powerful. Only thing i would be really concerned with is saltwater usage. I,ve heard its very corrosive to aluminum. Brian.
Thanks for the replies. I was thinking it might help on wear and friction since its an older outboard. I was worried it might be to thick to mix with the gear oil.
Hello to all. I was wondering if anyone uses Lucas oil stabillizer in there lower unit oil? I was thinking of using some but thought it might be to thick to blend with the other oil. Thanks,Brian.
Not 100% sure. The knob you,re talkin about is a throttle tensioner. I think its used to make the grip harder to turn so you can use the motor for trolling and not have to hold it all the time. Hope this info helps out. Good luck with you,re new motor,Brian.
I would look for a Johnson or Evinrude. Ive had bad experience with Mercury myself. They tend to have weak electronic systems. Just mt two cents. Brian :|
I bought a boat once with a 79 35hp Evinrude. The man told me he bought it all new and used it many years until the motor blew up. I took a chance on the boat for $500. The motor looked good but had no compression. I pulled the head and the cylinder walls looked ok. Put a new head gasket on it...
