I have an F7, 1980 model. I have only wired it, mounted rod holders, repaired the transom, and added a foam flooring material from Academy Sports. It is the same flooring that is installed in home gyms.
I plan on putting a 3/4 plywood floor between the seats and putting the flooring on it...
I have rod holders with the foam insert mounted on the front and rear seat of my boat. I'm not too concerned about the rods getting damaged since I usually fish alone. I will have an 8wt and a 5wt most trips. I fish from the back of the boat, but hope to change that with a foot control trolling...
So, that's the story! I had heard someone talking about a "Buddy Boat" a couple of years ago, and not wanting to appear any more ignorant than I am, I didn't ask what a Buddy Boat was.
Now I know!
I'm in NE Ga, and the bream bite was ON about 2 weeks ago. I fly fish and there are not many things as fun as bedding bream on the fly. I fished the last 2 hours of daylight, never moved the boat, and caught 40 or so, all on a little yellow foam spider.
And just for good measure boated a few...
I've got basically the same setup, 14ft Alumacraft, 80 model Evinrude 15, same prop, and I run solo rigged (battery, trolling motor, fishing tackle), about 23mph.
Have you tried a tach to see what rpm you are running?
Words at a time like this seem so inadequate. The Bible says "test everything, hold on to the good." So hold on to the good. I'm sure the good far outweighs the bad, and the memories will all take on a good spin. My prayers to God for you and your family.
I just installed a set this week. I bought the side bunks from Academy Sports. Cost less than $120.00 and easy to install, especially if you have access to an impact driver (battery powered worked great). I haven't had a chance to try them yet, but they look great.
Now to move the lights and...
That makes more sense. The last 2letters being "SD" according to the model # lookup is 06. Take away the last letter and you have "CS", or 80. I was wondering why it was "RC" or rope/commercial.
Thanks for straightening this out.
I mistakenly said "serial"#, should have been model #. My bad, The ser# is E0001136
got a pic on my iPhone to refer to. Model number is exactly as quoted.
On a side note, there is an expansion plug on top of the engine with the same number. Sorry for the confusion.
I had a fuel leak on the fuel pump on my Evinrude 15, cracked fuel pump cover. The problem came with the year model. A serial # lookup said my motor is a 2006. (Ser# E15RCSD)
The fuel pump is identical to a pre '92, not a 2006. I ordered a cover for a pre'92, and it was identical to the...
Speaking of serial numbers, my 15hp Evinrude has the ser# stamped on an expansion plug on top of the power head. It is identical to the frame mounted serial number plate.
Good call on checking the lower unit, you probably saved yourself some change down the road.
Good for him!! Bow fishing is not as easy as it looks, I know! And to shoot by instinct, that borders incredible. Encourage him to keep it up, and who knows, maybe one day we'll be watching him on the outdoors channel with his own show.
I would like to fish salt marshes 2 or three times a year, if I can get an inroad into the Saint Simons, Ga area. I have a brother-in-law close that I'm hoping can hook me up with a few locals who can show me the area. I will probably go, fish a few days and clean everything well when I get...
