Ok, since i have been having a hard time working my mercury. I have decided to try to fix my 70s 25 hp johnson. The motor has great compression, a new celenoid and I have all the controls for it and its electric start. The problem I have is It will not start. I am afraid it may be a power pack...

Thank You for your time. I bou :x ght the motor without the choke, But i had no idea it would be this hard to fix.

I have been looking and searching for a choke (the whole assembly) for my 1982 merc. I have gone to merc and they no longer make parts for my motor. I have gone to alot of the local marinas to find a motor that I could get the choke off of, but they dont have a motor they are willing to part out...
