    marine grade plywood

I used marine grade on my boat transom and had to buy a full sheet so I could double it to get the required thickness. I found a local lumber place that would sell retail and that was the only one within a reasonable distance.

7.5 merc will it work good on my 14'

If it runs good, I can't see where you will go wrong at $75. If nothing else it would do until you could get something larger. I run a 9.9 on my 14' and I have pretty much weight in it with the flooring and other stuff. It's by far no speed demon but surely better than only the trolling motor...

    Trailer help needed

You'll probably need brackets for the bunks. mine have L shaped brackets to adjust the bunk height. Save the sides of your boat and do not remove the fenders. I also moved my winch tower forward because I have almost as much overhang as you say you have. I do have a problem with opening my...

    Modding my SeaKing 1242 Semi-V

looks like a nice project boat. Think things out before you do them. It goes much easier with an overall plan down to how you plan on routing any electrical. Good luck, you are off to a great start.

    Homemade boat trailer

How about a rear axle from a front wheel drive car? I remeber some used to be pretty much like a trailer axle with spindles. Ok if you can get the entre thing for a few dollars. I paid $200 for a complete trailer axle shipped. Check cragslist, may find a cheap trailer there.

Looking to add a second battery

If connecting two batteries together, both need to be the same battery in the same condition. otherwise you're going create problems betwwen both with charging & discharging. If one is older and holds less of a charge the other will drain trying to equalize.

14' My last boat, I swear!

Sorry to hear about the setbacks. I'll be losing my job soon too so I can simpithises with that. The "remove the boat" just figures. You can have something that's hurting nothing and they is always somebody that has to make an issue of things. Hope everything works out for you.

beggining to mod my 12 foot ouachita

can't tell from the picture for sure but if your seats are only held by the seat clamps I'd suggest anchoring the bottoms of the clamps at the front and rear. I had clamp style mounts and they had pieces that screwed to the boat seat and held the seat mount in position so they couldn't pull up...
