FWIW I recently converted my 1994 20hp 2 stroke Merc to electric start and installed a "lawnmower" type battery for starting. Works like a charm and behaves like it could crank all day long.

8) I converted my 1994 20 hp Merc from pull start to electric start before fishing season opened this year. Got the kit from an aftermarket supplier from Florida for reasonable $$$. Toughest part was getting the flywheel off. Had to fabricate a flywheel puller and borrow an impact wrench but it...

8) I use the same connectors as well. When I was working I used to Rep the company that makes them, Anderson Power Products. I've still got a few samples I'm using on stuff around the house & shop as well as the boat. :LOL2: :LOL2:

:?: If it's the "basic" 5 speed model, I would hold out for something with a brushless DC motor. :beer:

KMixon is correct. Seven amps is too much of a breaker and won't protect your low current draw accessories. They need to be protected with appropriately (lower) rated fuses/breakers. :beer:
