    14' Starcraft Rebuild-Boundary Waters Special!

We actually went to a lake with a motor portage. There is a 4 wheeler that has a boat trailer that pulls you over. Don't even have to get out of the boat! I'm sure that we would have not had a problem, though. I think the boat I rented last year was heavier...

    Evinrude outboard

I have the same motor. I'd take the lower unit apart and take a look, may be something obvious. They are super easy to take apart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCkpGD4bgDI By the way, when it was running well, would it plane out your 14 with 3 people?

Thanks! I just had it out for a 5 day fishing/camping trip and I really liked the seat setup. Easy enough for 3 to fish out of.

Got a few more things done. -Wiring (well most of it, anyway). -Seats and decking. -Bow TM mount. -All wood got 3 coats of spar. -Most of the foam in. Still have to fill the front under the bow. Taking her up to the Boundary Waters tomorrow! Hope I can get most of it finished in time!

    1970 Lone Star 14' semi v conversion

Nice motor! That thing looks mint! Don't forget to change that water pump. You might want to spray some kind of lube in the cylinders before you try to pull it over since there might not be any gas/oil getting in there at first.

    Anyone tried this coating?

The application instructions say that the wood cannot be sealed or have paint on it. I was thinking about doing my porch with it too, but the thing was painted before I bought it. My parents had a bad finish on their deck and we ended up renting a hardwood floor sander to get the old finish...

    Anyone tried this coating?

Rustoleum Restore 10x $25 a gal. at Lowes Supposed to be good on wood surfaces and has a texture to it. I was thinking about using this on the few pieces of exposed wood on my build. Anyone tried this stuff, if even just on their deck at home? I'm wondering if the recomended two coats would...

    14' Starcraft Rebuild-Boundary Waters Special!

I kind of changed my mind on the layout. I'll be putting in small platforms so I can fit the seats in, rather than larger floor panels. I really want to keep this boat light so I can portage it without issue. I think I'll still be able to fit the correct amount of foam. Does anyone with a...

    Help with beat up TM

I got this TM free with my boat. It seems to work most of the time, but sometimes I have to hit the "GO" pedal a few times before it will start. I can hear the relay clicking but the prop doesn't move. Also the prop shuts off when I try to turn and then turns back on when i let off the steer...

    14' Starcraft Rebuild-Boundary Waters Special!

So, when in forward gear when I try to throttle up, there's a banging noise from the gear case. Almost like hitting a rock or something, but it does stay in gear. I took apart the lower unit after looking around to check the clutch dog. There was some wear on the dog and the cradle so I...

    14' Starcraft Rebuild-Boundary Waters Special!

Finished up the rear bench. I ended up using a ratchet strap to bring the sides in around 1 or 2 inches to stiffen it up. I took it out for a test run and ran into some problems...
