1990 dominator - foot control mounting

Here's a picture of the bow again with me sitting in the chair on the deck looking down at the foot control. Now you can see the hinge the control is sitting on and the vertical door underneath the trolling motor for storage. What's everyone's thought's and ideas for some kind of quick release...

1990 dominator - foot control mounting

The reason I went with cable drive a few years ago is because I like to be able to put my foot on the pedal, and know exactly where my trolling motor is pointing without looking down. But I was just using a butt seat on the front where now I have a bucket seat. So might wish I had a stronger...

1990 dominator - foot control mounting

Here's a picture of the front of my boat. Must be my dominator is a bit older that the front deck changed a little. You can see the front storage compartment but not the battery box below the foot pedal. Bad picture taking on my behalf. But what I've found since getting the newer trolling motor...

1990 dominator - foot control mounting

Yes, the deck is carpet. It's an all original boat. I'll have to take some pictures tonight to more clearly define the issue I believe I'm going to have on the water. I think the foot control is going to be too close to the pedestal on the deck without being completely attached to the deck and...

1990 dominator - foot control mounting

So I just bought a 1990 Dominator. The trolling motor that was on the boat was a 1991 MK powerdrive. The previous owners stored the foot control away in a compartment after every use. I find that annoying especially with the foot control sliding around on the deck. I have a MK edge 55 I bought...

humminbird helix 5 - add side imaging

Thanks for your replies everyone. I just didn't want to call them up and sit on hold for ever if there was something I was missing with being able to just switch transducers or something. Its a pretty useful piece of technology for fishing and thought it was worth the question. Edit. I did...

humminbird helix 5 - add side imaging

I bought a boat this weekend. It came with a Helix 5 gps. Can I buy a side imaging transducer and use my current head to show side imaging or do I need an entire new unit? Thanks,

    value of 1991 alumacraft dominator

I'm looking at an Alumacraft dominator 16' tiller. It's a 1991 model with a 40 hp johnson. The boat is in pristine shape. Only a little dock rash. Comes with a Helix 5 w/ gps. I'm wondering what you would value this boat at. There isn't too many of these offered in my area and I need to make...

    EVINRUDE 9.9 - Doesn't run great all the time - '76

So when I switch around the plug wires then it switches which cylinder dies. Thus I have something wrong with the points/condensers/coils. Which is the best to start? Per my understanding in Leeroys ramblings, this is probably a condenser problem?

    EVINRUDE 9.9 - Doesn't run great all the time - '76

So I ran it today and found when the problem started I was able to pull the top plug wire and it still ran the same. When i go out tomorrow I'll swap wires and and test to see if it's a coil problem

    EVINRUDE 9.9 - Doesn't run great all the time - '76

I've read all of leeroys ramblings. I'm hoping the idle screw helps

    EVINRUDE 9.9 - Doesn't run great all the time - '76

I'm about 95% sure that it isn't winter blend and it is 91 octane. Last night when I was working in the garage i decided to check the air/fuel idle knob that goes to the front housing which allows you to be lean or rich. I found that it was about 3-4 turns out from the recommended 1.5 starting...

    EVINRUDE 9.9 - Doesn't run great all the time - '76

Simply enough - I wasn't going to crap in a bucket. I haven't had time to check the coils or heat soak. I'll be trying it out this weekend. Thanks for some good tips and things to look for. I have a new fuel pump diaphragm that I'm going to install before hand just because I ordered it a while...

    EVINRUDE 9.9 - Doesn't run great all the time - '76

My 9.9 has me scratching my head. Here's the problem. So I drive across the lake, wide open, the motor runs great. I get to the other side, go to the bathroom, come back and it takes 20 pulls to start the motor. Then taking off, it acts like it is running on one cylinder sputtering but still...

    9.9 Johnson fuel usage

I've had my 9.9 out a few times this year and haven't hardly nudged the fuel in my tank with about half an hour of run time and maybe half of that at WOT. Like said previously, check your prop and see if you have the larger carb. Unless you're pushing a 16' deep v it seams much to me.

    9.9 motor buying advise

Over the winter I found a 76 Evinrude 9.9 which I was able to pick up for $100 but didn't get to see it run as it was -10F that day but for a $100 I took a chance. I consider myself inclined on the mechanical side so it didn't bother me. I new it needed some help but didn't know how much...

    '78 MERC 7.5 HP REBUILD

Background: This is my buddies 7.5 hp Mercury. He couldn't get it started this year and it didn't hardly run last year so I volunteered to help get it going. We had to use all new gas and oil to get it to barely run. Then when running at a higher idle, on decel, it would knock and ping. I...

    Bow mounted trolling motor Question

That's what I did. The screws are fairly concealed but noticeable if you look for them. I'll try and get some better pictures tonight to show you how mine look. I used deck screws though so they sink in pretty well. If you zoom in on my picture you can see one on the far left.

    BassBoatSeats.com? Any experience?

I just ordered a seat, post, base and seat base from Academy.com. They had to split the order up for some reason and half the stuff showed up a day early. I would definitely order from them again if I need seats or and seat mounting hardware.
