    Possible boat name

    Great name I love it.

    Bass Tracker taking on water

But, look at it this way, your boat has a lot of new parts that it didn't have before and that's three hundred dollars that you didn't spend on foolishness.

I've about had it up to here....

The debate on whether ethanol in gasoline causes the gas to go bad quicker than gasoline without ethanol always intrigues me. I live in Southern New Mexico not too far from El Paso, Texas. Although we are located in a river valley, we are surrounded by desert, so humidity is relatively low...

    1965 Alumacraft BelMara

Does the seller have whatever paperwork is required by your state to legally transfer title and registration of boat, motor and trailer to you? If not, or if you get some story about how easy it will be for you to straighten out after you buy it, be very careful. Otherwise looks like a good deal.

My first real boat (88 mirrocraft project)

Run (don't walk but run) right back to that guy's house and give him the five hundred before he changes his mind. Yes that boat may need a lot of work but IMO it's a great bargain, plus you have the opportunity to customize it to suit yourself. I just realized that you said you had the motor...

Yet another question about weight limits

I assumed it was a vee hull and based my answer on my experience with that type of boat. If it is a flat bottomed jon boat I plead total ignorance. I've never even set foot in one of those and know absolutely nothing about weight capacity or anything else concerning them.

Yet another question about weight limits

You didn't mention a motor of other gear such as tackle boxes, coolers, etc. that you might be taking along. My guess is (and it's only a guess) that you would be running pretty close to maximum capacity with just the two of you in it without any other gear.

    14 foot lone star

They weren't through the wood part and once tightened, never leaked again, nor did they do any damage to the boat. Good Luck with your great find.

    14 foot lone star

One tip. If your boat is like the '57 King Commander my dad had (and which my son still has) there are four small (quarter inch in diameter or smaller) bolts across the back just below the wooden part of the transom. For years that boat leaked a little bit when it was sitting still in the water...

    14 foot lone star

My guess (and it's only a guess) is that it is a Commander (rather than a King Commander ) from the early to mid 1950s. In either case It's a great boat. It should handle anything up to and including a 25 horse two cycle without any problem.

    14 foot lone star

Can you post a couple of pictures? That might help some of us help you. If you have a 1950s model Commander, or better yet a King Commander you have a real jewel. Some of the best small tinnies ever made IMO.
