You should be able to hit that. I also have a 17' Boston Whaler with a 2009 90hp E-Tec and I've hit 43mph in perfect conditions.

I have a pneumatic rivet gun from harbor freight. It is fantastic and totally worth the money if you have a use for it. I am a auto mechanic and I have had it for years, way better than even a large manual rivet gun. I think it was like $50 or $60.

Fixed the leak today by pulling out the transom bolts and sealing them again. Also made the cardboard template and cut the floor for the front section and then it started to rain. Biggest problem I had ,and looking at 87t's pics he has the same, is the mess that is makes to do it right. To really strip and sand and then spray it is not possible at my house without causing some collateral damage.

The last pic looks pretty good to me. I found it was harder to paint a **** boat than I thought. I want to do mine over too because I tried to cut corners on the prep.
