Just picked her up this week. Not sure what brand it is but it is in decent shape except for the paint job. We put her in the water today with the trolling motor and she had zero leaks after about an hour so now I will begin the prep for paint. I picked up some supplies yesterday to get started. After that I want to do some flooring and storage. I do have a 15hp Johnson for it but I might just keep it electric.

I've started the sanding to get her ready to paint. I also have a plan for what I want to add decking wise. I want to keep it simple and as low as possible. I will almost always have at least one of the two kids with me so for now, I'd rather not have a high mounted deck. But I did find out what it is, it is a 12' Ouachita from somwhere in the 70's.

Got the bottom and the sides painted. The rest of it up by the rail I will do after I get it back on the trailer. After looking at it, I should have got a pint of black or gray to do the bottom to give it a two tone look. It is a lot of blue!. I'll wait to see what it looks like on the trailer and in the water.

Found some replacement decals for the sides. The company is closed for vacation till August 10th but i'll at least place the order one day this week. I hope to have the outside of the hull finished by the end off the weekend so I can move on to the inside.

The paint work is taking me longer then expected. Sorry for the crappy pic but this is the color combo. Still have to do the rail and finish the inside.

I actually really liked the camo pattern that was there. Do you think you could post a high res picture of the original camo or send one to me?

I emailed you 2 pics. In person, it was chipping off and the blue was coming through. It was all done with spray paint. But I got the paint done along the rail today, not that noticeable in the pics but it is to me. I have to open the gray paint one more time and just finish the inside. The floors that are still blue will be cover with decking so it will be a quick job. Hopefully by the end of this week I will be getting started on the wood.

What did you use for paint?

I was also thinking blue but with a black lower.

Rustoleum from Lowes. I was thinking of doing a different color on the bottom too but not right now. In the water you wouldn't really see it.

I started to make the decking last night. Got the floor between the two benches cut and started on the front section. Then today, my wife called and said she was taking the kids and going out this evening so I was free. I raced home and ripped out the wood and actually went out fishing. Nothing was secured into the boat yet so it all came right out.

Got the old 15hp out and it started in 8 pulls after sitting for 5 years. The motor is a 1980 and without exaggeration has be used maybe 15 to 20 times. Bought new fuel line and a new tank. Hooked it up to the boat and tried it out on the river. With 2 of us adding up over 400 lbs we made it to 24mph on a handheld gps.

Thinking of adding a console setup on my middle bench like this. Not a fan of the tiller.

Took the boat out on Friday and it developed a leak from the transom. I towed the boat up to work and went out up there with a coworker. As soon as it went in the water it was leaking. The wood was replaced by the previous owner and was ok till then. Not sure if the bouncing on the road with the motor mounted caused one of the bolts to leak. So now instead of finishing my interior work I have to fix this. Took the bigger boat out instead today and I think this will become a bigger project than I wanted and do it all the right way.

By the way, we did take the boat for a quick ride on Friday despite the leak. I changed the trim position since the last ride as the motor was initially too low. We hit 26mph with two of us and just the minimum safety gear!!! Unbelievable that this thing goes that fast with just a 15hp, but it is scary at that speed.

Fixed the leak today by pulling out the transom bolts and sealing them again. Also made the cardboard template and cut the floor for the front section and then it started to rain. Tomorrow I think I'll go and get some carpet and cover the two floor sections I have cut just because it is supposed to rain again and I can do it in the garage. I made both floor sections removable and I am going to just pull them out and store them in the garage when the boat is parked.

Went out fishing on the lake earlier last week and changed my mind of how I wanted the boat to be setup. I decided to cut out the center bench and just make one long flat floor from the rear bench all the way forward. Two pedestal seats, one front and one towards the rear. And then two storage compartments from the rear bench to the leftover pieces of the center bench. Got started today before we had to go to the kid's soccer game.

A year later I am back at it. Got the floor done and started the side storage boxes. Still have to order two seats.
