Reverse slipper, c hook leaf spring bushings

Answered my own question but posting in case this helps someone else in the future. My trailer uses reverse slipper, c hook style springs. There's a nylon bushing in the center that the spring glides on. None of the local trailer shops knew what I was talking about and only one old school...

    Interior lights

Looking to add some interior lights for night fishing. Any preference on colors? Red or white? I'd be alright with old school non led lights because they aren't as bright. Any suggestions?

Front mount trolling motor options, v hull

Have an old sea nymph that I need a good front mount trolling motor solution for. Had a power drive v2 mounted on an aluminum plate attached to the front gusset plate, ran aground and broke the gusset plate (connects the v, has handles casted into it). Motor was too deep, shaft on the motor is...

Prop Pitch Recommendations - need help

Get the engine at the right height, I have a 20 hp four stroke running a 9.25x10 and it will run 24 mph at about 750 lbs and fully loaded at 950 lbs 20 mph @5,800 RPM. The 20 hp is a dog, the 25 should be kiillng it. I know my redline is 6,100 and the power band hits about 5,500. This is on...

Kenda tires-where do you rate them on quality?

I run mine at 70 psi, I think they max out at 80 psi. You will need metal valve stems rated for the pressure. Not all metal stems are rated the same. I've bought them on the rim mounted from Recstuff for around $60 shipped.

Kenda tires-where do you rate them on quality?

I've had a couple sets of the 12" load range C. Good tires. Recstuff.com will be the cheapest. Ordered from them a bunch and had them in two days

    Trailer Upgrade Projects

 My trailer safety chains are just through bolted with a grade 8 of decent size. You can hook to the rear carry handles, the straps just need to be snug. I put two eyelets in the rear of my trailer and strap them with to the handles with these. You also need to add a safety chain up...

Need Help with Setting Mercury 25 4 Stroke

I have a 20 HP version of that engine that I just mounted on a utility hull 1460 - I mounted mine on a fixed jack plate the the cavitation plate is near level to an inch above. I was experiencing a ton of splash as well, a lot of the research I've done mentions that the design of this...

    Carpet Replacement Q.

You'll get varying responses on adhesives, more so if you search. If you use a spray, I'd stick to 3M. https://tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=22430&start=15 I originally used Roberts 6700 outdoor glue from Home Depot - it worked but was a pain in the *** and took a long time to...

    Carpet Replacement Q.

Wood Weld contact cement, follow the directions, too heavy will bleed through. Pictures of what you're working on would help dramatically.

Getting boat off the trailer and flipped over.

Wanting to steel flex my 14' deep v, boat is roughly 175 lbs. I know I can hook it to a tree and drag it off and retrailer it. What's the easiest way to flip it without causing damage? I'm assuming I can't apply steel flex with it on the trailer? Is there something similar to steel flex that...

    State of Illinois

They reap what they sow. Closing all of the states lakes and hunting sites due to Covid is going to hurt the DNR badly. They're already underfunded and they'll likely cut staff as a result. The trailer plate increase is asinine, especially for something I only use three to four months out of...

Do you use a support for your trolling motor?

Yes, I use the Minnkota bow support. Powerdrive V2 - 70 lbs https://www.cabelas.com/product/boating/electric-trolling-motors/electric-trolling-motor-accessories/pc/104794380/c/104716980/sc/104312880/minn-kota-stabilizer-kit-elect-steer-tm/3273347.uts?slotId=1

    downside of a long shaft?

Sea Nymph 14R - Mini Jacker - Mercury 20HP 4 Stroke long shaft. Runs 25-26 mph on smooth water with just me. Added some plate bracing for my own sanity but I'm not sure it needed it. I have wave wackers to go across the back that I haven't installed yet - you might want a splash shield or...

    Fishing at North Myrtle beach

Depends on the time of the year, however, I've fished at the Cherry Grove Boat Landing, northwest of the pier. I've had a lot of bite offs, used live bait and rigs from Fish-On Outfitters.
