    Battery Idea!

Just bought a battery adapter with 12v voltage regulator for my craftsman c3 batteries ($30 on Amazon). Adapters are made for various batteries. Since I have multiple batteries for my tools, I wanted to use them for other projects, but needed 12v. Should work well on fish finders and if you...

    Valve Lash Inspection

My Suzuki DF9.9 has a valve lash inspection at 12months/200hours. My question is for those who have engines with a valve lash inspection, are you doing them and are you doing any adjustments? Fixing to do mine next month, but read a few internet searches where some owners are not doing them.

Although lithium is a metal, do not treat a fire involving a small number of lithium batteries as a Class D fire.

I personally think the newer lithium batteries are much safer, but there is difference in how to fight a fire, and knowledge helps. Ran across this FAA document when I was researching if my boat fire extinguisher would work on Lithium battery fires.

Old habit - Pushing in Key Switch on EFI Suzuki

Running engine after, yearly maintenance on my EFI Suzuki DF9.9. Pushed key in, listen for solenoids, no sound, turn key and engine started and ran fine. EFI’s don’t have carbs or chokes, so what does pushing in on key switch do? Researched my manual and no mention of the push switch. Remote...

    Suzuki gas tank issue

Just thought I would pass this info on. After about 3 years of use, I developed a small fuel leak from the hose side connector at the gas tank. No problem, got the part number from my manual, ordered online. Receive the part, and before I connected to hose, I tried to connect to tank. Would...

Suzuki DF9.9 NMEA, Is there any value?

I have just updated my chart plotter and it supports Suzuki engine data through NMEA connection. I have a remote engine with power tilt. Suzuki interface cables and NMEA starter kit total around $250. Would appreciate any comments from users that use their plotters as engine gauges.
