Video series of my permanent fuel tank install

I recorded my installation of the removing 2 portable fuel tanks with selector switch with a slightly larger capacity single/permanent fuel tank. Hope this helps with any that wants to do the same. KRS sfExdcY1cSk g7p-7pbTq2A QYimLD1stUE

    Source for Tracker ribs?

Has anyone tried to source the ribs for a tracker? I have a Pro17 and some are cracked. I can certainly weld them back up (that is why I am learning TIG) but thought it would be nice to lay down new material. KRS

Attention Tracker TX rebuilders - question for you

While they certainly do not look factory, can you tell me if they brackets shown in the pics are on yours as well? My guess (by the looks of the welds) the the PO started a repair on it and put those on himself. I do know from looking at your projects that there is typically a board under...

    Rivet to welded coversion?

I am curious if anyone has taken a riveted boat (that needed rib/hull repair) and instead of riveting.....welded it back up? Yes, it seems like a lot more work, but in reality, maybe not so much. It doesn't make sense to proactively do this....but I am in a position on my project boat where I...

KRS62's Bass Tracker Pro 17 build???

I thought I would start a build thread....request some opinions from the experienced guys.....to see if it stays a build thread! I bought this boat and for the most part, it is exactly the size boat I want. (Well I could use a 20 footer, but that is beside the point!) I also was open to and...

Tracker Jons - typical problem spots?

I am headed out to look at an 18ft (1872) Tracker in a few hours and thought I see if I could get a few quick responses before I go. I am not sure what year it is. This is a completely stripped down, bare metal boat and looks to be a good starting point for a project. - No carpet, no seats...

    Flush mount bow navigation light?

I am looking to move from a post mounted navigation light on the front to something that's flush mounted on the bow. While the side mounted ones look nice, I think I would rather have a single one in the middle. Some of the ones I have seen, you have to drill a hole underneath to run the...

Hydroturf on the way - question about old adhesive & install

I have hydroturf with 3m backing coming from Gatortrax! I have pulled the old carpet up and as you can see from the pics there is plenty of old adhesive and carpet bits. The carpet and most of the adhesive comes off fairly easy with a sander. (That is my chosen method over chemicals, etc.)...

Need suggestions for old carpet glue removal

Hello all. I just pulled the carpet out of my boat and there is some spots with left over glue/adhesive and a little bit of carpet fibers as well. (The floor surface is dimpled aluminum.) Any suggestions on some cleaner I can spray on to remove this? I got Hydroturf samples in from Gatortrax...

    Hydro Turf question

For those of you that have installed hydro turf, I have a question. I am curious how it does on "corners." See the pic of my boat and I will try to explain. If I run it up the side as shown in the center of the pic, will it bend when it gets up to the flat top part? The carpet is "seamless"...

Interesting CL listing - twin 50 jets

The gas tank set up looks really cool. Hard to tell how he has it rigged. I mean, are there pumps or something? Does it draw off of 1 tank, then the others flow into that? Switchable? Any thoughts? https://spacecoast.craigslist.org/boa/3303222493.html

permanently installed jumper cables - gauge size?

Hello all. Even though I now religiously use an on-board charger and haven't had a dead main battery in years, I would like to install permanent "jumper cables" from the trolling motor battery to the main battery. If the main battery ever dies, I would like to flip a switch to have the TM...

Refresh my memory - non carpet type flooring options?

Hello all....I have searched first, but just couldn't find what I know is out on the site. I am looking for the "foam" or "cushiony" type of flooring that you can get in camo patterns. Can you through a name or two that you have use and are happy with? I am looking to replace the carpet in...

    Here's my trailer project

After much debate (in my head) of trying to find a used trailer in good condition...then working on it to fit my boat vs. sanding and repainting my existing trailer....I have decided to keep my trailer. I really don't have much time to work on it, but like the idea of a project. The previous...

Please list primer/paint used for galvenized repair

I would like to amend to the previous post and ask you guys to list what you have successfully used for repairing rust areas on galvanized trailers. My trailer is in the tear down stage and I will be needing paint soon! As the previous post, I thought I was "settled" on whatever rustoleum...

Bluewater LED - suggest waterproof switch

I am very happy with my bluewater install, but I would recommend the waterproof switch. During a gator hunt last week, we got a good rain and the switch got wet. When it did, it powered up the lights about 50%. I finally figured I would "blow it out" a few times and it fixed it. I like the...

    temporary hull repair question

I have about a 1 inch "hole" in the bottom of my hull that I have tried twice now to repair twice now with JB Weld. It looks like it might be at a rivet/weld point and "hole" part part of the hull is still attached to a rib or something. I am not exactly sure, but suspect when I get in rough...

    Replaced my battery switch

While installing my Bluewater LED kit, my accessory battery switch broke on me. (The previous owner of the boat installed 2 of the BEP ones (first pic) on top of the battery box.) I never really cared for it any way as the removable knob was a pain. I picked up a Blue Sea one from West...
