    1968 Duracraft tri-hull, 18'...rare here!

Thanks for the comments. I was able to free up the steering yesterday but yes, much rot in all wood, even the interior side pieces. Gotta get that one motor freed up before I can get started on tear-out. On the positive note, at least mfg. used stainless screws just about everywhere!

Hey man, havent visited site in a long time! Just wanted to wave my hand and let you know I still would like to make a jet-jon out of my 2472 Sea Ark, bot I know it would take a large engine, though I dont care about going fast. Would appreciate all ideas and any advice you could give me.

1989 FLATSTRACKER 17tx to center console flats boat

Boat looks great man! I don't understand though, why you completely skipped over replacing the wood in the transom. 98% of the ones I have restored had rotten wood hidden in the sandwiched in aluminum on the transom. Yes, it's a lot of work to re-do it but the peace of mind later is worth the...

MMF'S-1990 Tracker TX-17 Alum Build (FINAL PIX 10/22/11)

sorry for the late response, I have not visited the forum in several months,(busy fishin and workin). No heat or glare noted, the aluminum has dulled down drastically since walking on it regularly, cutting bait, fish guts, spilled sodas, catfish slime........all is well as far as I am concerned...

PSG-1, I did some investigating on my 24' hull and Sea Ark site says the hullweight is 775 lbs.,a lot less than I thought it would weigh.

MMF'S-1990 Tracker TX-17 Alum Build (FINAL PIX 10/22/11)

A couple of BAD videos crappie fishing on Lake Wylie, NC last weekend. My brother Sam does not know how to use his video camera, but here are some links of videos anyway...... My other fishing buddy, Mark is in the boat beside us with his son, JR, we were shooting the docks with crappie...

    attaching frame to the boat

I agree with the fasteners, also I WOULD NOT use any type of steel plates, galvanized or not! They will corrode and rust eventually, use aluminum instead. Take a look at John Boat Jerry's build and look at this frame brackets, these would be good-to-go.

    jon boat with whole

I agree with Ride_Klein, if the crack is on a flat part of the hull, I use 2- 1/8" aluminum plates, predrilled and sandwich them with the hull with PL Adhesive and stainless steel fasteners. I have done this many times on alot of boats and have never had one problem. PS.....for the screws I...

MMF'S-1990 Tracker TX-17 Alum Build (FINAL PIX 10/22/11)

Yep, selling it,hard work is part of the trade,it is a good boat, it's just me that does not like the bass boat style, I like wide spacious open boats. I mainly traded with my buddy so he could have a good working boat to fish out of. I am hunting another Sea Ark super jon from 16-20 ft. Thanks...

MMF'S-1990 Tracker TX-17 Alum Build (FINAL PIX 10/22/11)

Well, I have decided I do not personally like the tracker style bass boat so I am going to sell it. I am listing it in the for sale section and also I will list it on craigslist locally (Charlotte, NC) as well. I am more suited with the open style jonboat than I am with decks etc. that your...

    Johnson 25HP issue

sounds like you might be running on one cylinder. Run motor at idle in a barrel and pull one plug at a time to see if it makes a difference. You have a lot of unburned fuel coming out, this is usually found when there is a bad coil or other ignition problem making a cylinder NOT fire.

    Impeller Replacement Question

The SS wear plate below the impeller is normally changed as well. I would also change the seals in the upper water pump housing.

MMF'S-1990 Tracker TX-17 Alum Build (FINAL PIX 10/22/11)

Thanks, PSG-1, It would seem that just the setup you installed should push my big jon, since the HP is from 160-175HP. I presently have a 150 HP Black Max outboard on it and it will FLY close to 60MPH on the water. I don't necessarily care so much for "flying" on the water, I am only a fisherman...
