There are a few builders in PA that screw UHMW on and it lasts for years. Tom Snyder is one. My boat is a 2008 and has never leaked. The UHMW is only screwed on and has taken several hits.

For what it's worth, by UHMW is screwed to my hull. There is no sealant on the screws and the hull has never leaked. My hull is 3/16 thick with 3/8 UHMW. Scott

The 1/32 gap is pretty critical. Get it too tight and you may not be able to start your motor. I know of a few people that have had that happen. I really don't see the benefits of a uhmw liner?? Scott

You do not want the gap any closer than 1/32". I had mine closer and my motor would not start when in the water. I know of two other people this has happened to. Adjusted one washer and it was fine. Scott
