I just can't make myself eat those things. Especially when we have good bbq places around. Arby's has pretty good sandwiches though.

    Will 8hp plane A 1236

I have a 1436 with a 2 stroke 8hp. It planes out just fine. With just me and gas tank I've had it up to 23 mph. With 2 people, battery, and fishing gear it runs about 15-16 mph.

    Late 80's 8hp Evinrude Problems

Thanks for taking the time and explaining this. Pretty sure it's a 1988 model. It has been a great little motor. Really surpirsing how strong it is and for a while I was wondering if was a 9.9 with 8 stickers. Then I found out about the serial number. It pushes my 1436 pretty fast by myself and...

    Late 80's 8hp Evinrude Problems

Idles great, revs great in neutral, but boggs down under load. Doesn't die but I can only do 4 - 5 mph. Primer bulb stays firm. This model doesn't have a choke. It has a primer pump that you pull out a few times before cold start. If I pump if fast enough, I can get up on a plain and it runs...

    Rivet Size

Thnaks for the replies. I have looked and can't find 1/4" rivets with aluminum mandrels. I returned the rivet tool I had and got the one from harbor freight you mention. I was planning on using 5200 with them so I will just put a little on the outside to keep them from rusting. I am going to try...

    Rivet Size

Ok guys, I drilled out a couple rivets. One of them not so perfect so I decided to go ahead and go up to 1/4" on that one. So my plan is to order some 3/16" and 1/4" rivets. The thickness is pretty close to 1/8" (0.125). The only 1/4" they have here...

BBQ Sauce - Anyone make their own?

+1 and would like to add that you should also sautee things like chile powder, garlic powder, etc. for just a min or two. What I like to do is sautee finely chopped onions until soft (if I use onions) add fresh minced garlic for 1 min. and then add the chile powder and stuff like that for just a...

    Gut hooked fish

I have caught fish with line coming out of there mouths. One was nice catfish that I'm pretty sure was hooked the night before and broke the guy off a little ways down the river. It was gut hooked and doing fine and feeding with about 50 yards of mono hanging out of its mouth. But as far as the...

    Rivet Size

Ok hopefully I will be able to go out to the camp this weekend and make at least one fishing trip before I start drilling a bunch of holes. Been off the water for 6 months and now that I've finally fixed the trailer I hate to not at least use it once lol. Was hoping to be able to buy everything...

    Rivet Size

I have some rivets that need to be replaced and I have no idea on what size to get. I have a 1436 made out of very thin aluminum. What length rivets do I need? I whatched a video and they made it look really easy to drill out the old rivets. I assume I need to do this in order to find out what...

Who is cooking their catch ?

My grandmother used to steam crabs (blue crabs) every once in a while and man them things were fantastic. Not sure how she did them but I remember they had a lot of seasonings on the outside and somehow it would make it inside the crab. They were pretty spicy.

    jon boat design help

Welcome aboard wisker. I have an old 1436 with a great running 8hp evinrude. Hull is lates 70's and outboard is late 80's or early 90's. By myself at 165 lbs with just a few gals of gass I can do 21-23 mph. With another person about the same size and fishing gear, ice chest, and battery I run...
