    livewell suggestion

If the overfill tube empties below the water line, will it still expel water when it gets that high?

    livewell suggestion

I just bout a 16.5ft Xpress, 2004 model with a 50hp Mercury motor. It has a livewell, which is kind of small, but I bet itll be fine for 3 fish tournaments...anyways all it has is a fill pump and then a drain plug. I want to have quality water in there for the fish, so what do I need to add...

hydroturf over rivets on deck (or just flooring suggestions)

Looking to cover my front and back decks here pretty soon and paint the boat...basically just freshen up the boat. Wondering if I could use the self-adhering hydroturf over the top of these rivets. If not hydroturf, then what do you suggest for the flooring? I want some sort of flooring...

    Carpet straight on aluminum

I have a boat just like this one https://forum.tinboats.net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=36129 Now its older, and I would like to put carpet down on the decks where you stand. In past boats, I would cut a piece of wood, carpet the wood, and then screw that down. id rather not do that...but how do I...

Reel Cleaning Out of the Box

It will be clean, but sometimes, well most of the time, the factory puts much more grease than needed and it can hinder the full performance a little. They do this because they dont know what kind of abuse the reel will go through, and they have warranties and stuff they have to fulfill.

    reel bearings

I was wondering if any of you guys had upgraded the bearings in your reels. I have an older curado 3:8 for crankbait fishing and I wanted to upgrade the 3 bearings involved with casting (both sideplates, and one on spool) I was wondering how to determine the size of the bearing, so I know what...

    center console addition

Did you cut a spot through the ribs where the steering cables and stuff could run along? Or when you said you used 2x4's did you come up from the ribs, leaving that space? Thanks Matt

    center console addition

I love it...so if you took your bench seat out in the middle, I guess you just framed the end of your deck. Its nice...does that 25 move it along pretty good. I have a 1988 Evinrude 25hp and I am looking to get some controls for it, but I dont know whats compatible. I have access to a junk...

    center console addition

How long is your boat? I have a 14' 48" at the floor that I want to do this with. I love it. Is your floor just on the ribs? Or did you raise it?

    Plain small center console

Well I havent posted on here in a while, I have actually done another basic mod since I posted last (will attach some pictures). I was wanting to put a real basic small center console in my boat right behind my middle seat. I guess my main question is for the steering and controls. Do I have...

    Starting a new upgrade project

I just purchased a Duracraft boat. Its 14' long and 48" wide. The sides are 19 1/2". I want to take my son (he is 2 now) in this boat often and my wife. My old project, I did a front raised deck, but that limits seating. I would like to just do carpeted flat floors and carpeted bench seats...

best quick fix for a few leaky rivets

On the underside of my boat where the knee brace on the transom is riveted...it leaks a little bit. This is due to me replacing the transom and having to flex the brace a few times to get the new transom boards in the back. What is a good quality fix to put on these rivets to stop the leaking...

    adding foam

What kind of foat would be good to add to my boat. Its a 14' flatbottom. I would like to add some flotation to it to make up for the weight built onto the boat. What do you guys recommend? Take mind I have already built the casting deck on the front, and have minimal access to it without...

    My upgrade

I have actually thought about just leaving no seat. This is a small, low profile boat. Its mainly designed for just be because it is skinny and low profile and I like not having a seat in the way. If anything I will put a base and a removeable pole with just a little bass seat or something...

    3M 5200 and painting

Can you paint over this stuff fully cured? I just used some on the back of my alum boat to seal up some holes. Obviously, it looks crappy so I would want to paint back over it. Is it paintable? thanks

    My upgrade

    My upgrade

take offs are fine, the extra weight with the wood and trolling motor keep that in check. It plains out ok, not blazing fast, but gets me where I need to go. The very front of the bow was higher than the rest of the boat so I just went level to there and just raised that little piece. I used...

    My upgrade

Ok, I appologize but I didnt take pics of the process, but here is the basically finished state. This is a 1974 Delhi flatbottom boat that is 14 ft long. It took me all summer but it was due to the summer Texas heat. I couldnt work more than about 1-2 hours at a time before I had to stop...
