Long time lurking, first time posting. Great site, you guys have inspired me to get my but off the couch and deck out my boat. As the title stats I have a 12' shallow V aluminum and I have a couple of questions.

Is 12' to small to deck out. I'm afraid the boat will not be sturdy?

its a simple design back deck from rear seat and front deck from 2nd seat to bow, I would like to add a cooler sized live well for pan fish. Is this to much weight?

I will be using 1/2" ply wood and 2" by 3" for supports.

I will post pics first thing in the morning

thanks

Put your boat in the water & stand on your seats like you would have a deck on (be careful or you might go for a swim) & see how stable your boat is.12 foot is pretty small to deck but I know some people on here have.

i couldnt get the decking off my 12ft fast enough. just wasnt as confortable having to balance so much more all the time
I with Mike on this one. You'll spend more time doing the ballanceing dace than you will fishing. You might try doing a a lower deck maybe just a 4 " off the floor.

not finished yet but here is my 12' shallow v. Took it out last week after trial and error I was standing up casting. Focus on the bow very tippy if u dont have weight in the right spots. You should do some tests first.
