So thought I would post mine and what I plan on doing.
Its 14 foot and has a 35hp Johnson tiller, 32lb tm, 1 deep cycle battery for tm and a motorcycle battery for starting.
The outside is in pretty good shape actually. Nice paint and no leaks so that will save me ALOT of work!
The inside though is pretty rough. I use the boat 3 to 4 times a week so before I start anything im waiting for winter. Couple months away but I need to start getting stuff gathered up and ready.
Main things I want are convert it back to remote steer with a console.
Casting deck front and rear.
New seats
Maybe a small live well and some storage.

I want to use 1,1/2X 1,1/2X 1/8 angle aluminum for framing. Aluminum flooring.
Hope to find a console kinda like a bass tracker style.
Insulation for floatation.
carpet
Anyway there will be more but will be slow going to start with.
Any suggestions please toss em out there!

rscottp » 03 Aug 2014, 05:01[/url]"]That rig must fly with a 35hp!

Actually I have got to 28mph. Everything must have been perfect as its usually around 24ish mph.
I don't believe my engine is winding out for some reason but I think its to much weight to far forward and not the right prop.
That's part of the reason I want to put it back to remote steer so its more balanced like it was designed to be.
Also want to find a short shaft 50hp engine as I had to raise my transom for the long shaft 35hp tiller it came with.

So anyway this pic shows what I want my layout to be like. Ill need to make some adjustments but its close

Finding a 50 with a 15 mid is going to be tough. I'd sell my 1985 Johnson 50 20" mid for the right money. Where are you located

Hi!
Well after taking it out last night I think I'm going to stick with the taller transom after all.
Lake was all white caps and with a short transom water would for sure been coming over it.
Before I can buy a larger motor I need to sell mine and I'm sure your no place close to north Idaho anyway!
Thanks for your offer though 8)

Over the last month or so I have been tinkering around with my boat layout.
I have it setup mostly the way I want it. Nice thing is I can try it out what ever way I want as nothing is permanent right now and the whole inside will be coming out this winter so I can do the job right!
The only thing I want that is not tried yet is a front and rear casting deck with hatches for storage but that's kind of a no brainer as the weight distribution seems to be working out pretty well the way it is. Also it is a little cramped for room but im sure the front and rear deck with help with that situation.
Boat hits 31mph(gps) now with the bigger engine. The added weight from it about 60lbs did not really affect anything at all that I notice.
