I have a 1959 Orlando Clipper. The coolest part about these boats are Orlando aluminum boats are made out of recycled aluminum from WW2 aircraft. When I first got it a little over a month ago it looked pretty rough. But I sanded primed(self etching) and painted(behr oil based enamel) the boat. I also patched all the leaks(using regular jb weld and jb water weld) and added some replicas of the Orlando Clipper logo and redid the transom using starboard. If you use starboard on your transom (which I recommend you do because it is strong and will not rot) be sure to bolt your motor through the transom Starboard is somewhat slick and your kicker/motor may pop off. This boat rides amazing a lot better than the old flat bottom 12ft I used to use. I have a honda 9.9 4 stroke and gets the 14 foot boat on plane easily with 2 people and equipment. I am more than satisfied with this boat! There are some pictures below both before and after.
