Need advice or suggestions for a 2002 Bass Tracker Pro Team 165 overhaul

I’ve recently decided it is is time to upgrade the trolling motor to the MK Terrova, with that I also decided to replace the carpet.

I have the entire boat ripped apart and completely cleaned down but wanted suggestions on any additions / mods to add such as flip up jump seats for the console area that when not in use can extend the rear casting deck / lights / wiring / creating a bigger rod locker. I’m also interested in understanding if it is possible to cut some of the foam off the rear deck to add some additional storage.

Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Mighty ambitious!
You might consider treating the rust areas with something like POR 15.
Also, don't let your wife see that you have her Eureka Mighty Mite vacuum in there!

Ha! That mighty vacuum hasn’t entered the house so it can get reallly dirty 😉.

The “rust” areas I think might look like rust but is the residue that remained from the previous carets glue. Have you taken on something like this before?

I had aspirations to put a center mounted rod locker in my Tracker like the new bass boats have. I hate side boxes. Unfortunately I never got around to it.

In my situation I was going to build an enclosure that extended from the middle of the front deck with a flip up lid, and insert several thin wall PVC tubes into the vertical wall of the front deck inside of it, that would go pretty much all the way up into the bow area. Rods would slide up into the tubes, and you could get whichever one you wanted without taking the others out.

You can remove some foam but you will need to add an equal amount back somewhere, as close to where it was as you can.

I have stripped a few tinnies down before. Labor of love. I finally had enough cash to buy a new Gregor Alaskan 16 a couple of years ago. It is kept in my garage so that it does not weather or corrode. Age has some benefits I guess.
Keep at it. Yours will be a gem when you are through.
