9/28 - Canton Lake (OK)

Nice day on the water with the kids. White bass and hybrids were very good on free-lined shad with just a small split shot in 12-15' off of a mid-lake hump. My oldest son caught his first wiper that went about maybe 4 lbs..give or take. Time to retire their old Zebco 202's and move up to some baitcasters. Those 202's are no match for these powerful hybrids. I didn't think he'd ever get this one in the boat. :lol:

Congrats to your son! I think you are right about the reel. If he landed that one with a 202 he has proven himself a fisherman.LOL Nice hybrid for the first. Sounds like a great day all around.

Nice fish - on a Zebco 202 that must have had your heart in your throat teh whole way.

get them some BPS spinning rods and Shimano Sedona reels (Dicks has those on clearance) the outfit will run you about 70.00 and is good forever
