I have a small alum duck boat that I've used for probably 12 years. (i'll try to get pics posted later). I'm thinking about doing some heavy modifying for duck hunting and fishing. (it's a V hull). I like a lot of the deck setups especially with side lockers for rods and guns. My biggest concern with modifying the boat is weight. It's only a 10ft boat.. so I'm not sure how much weight I can safely add with the decking. What size decking do people usually use (thickness of ply)? How much weight does it add?

I'll post pics soon, but I think I may also try to build some sort of PVC duck blind setup around it as I plan to hunt out of it.

If anyone can post some pics or offer some advice in the mean time I'm all ears!

Fish as is, its too small to add weight or do anything substantial.

i go out in my buddys 10footer alot and no way would that thing stay up rite with a deck and 2 people. just my .02 cant wait to see the pics though!

Yeah sorry guys, I'm not thinking a full deck. I'm thinking front storage like what Rat did ( I know his boat is subtantially larger), possibly remove the middle bench and put in side storage for guns/rods on each side.

(thinking a smaller version of front storage like Rat's setup: https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=9788&start=30)

what do you think?
