Also - so long as you use the removable post-style running lights (bow & stern) you don't need a switch to the lights making the wiring easier (still put fuses in-line).

With the posts removed there is no closed circuit.

You'll probably want these type lights for the front anyway as your bow light is supposed to be above all obstructions (ie the trolling motor)

I ran power wires to a MinnKota trolling motor outlet/socket and then connected the bow light to each of those wires with a fuse at the point the bow light picks up its feed from the #8 wire feeding the socket. I will have to change this when I add the 24V trolling motor, but it will work fine for you.
