so my dumb friend charged my battery but switched the positive and negative terminals. the battery boiled over. my question is what negative things happened to my charger and my battery besides it boiling over.
 
the battery will actually probably last... just not as long as it would have before. By reversing the polarity, it might still charge a little, but what happened was the negative effects of sulfation... all of your cells are probably 1/8 full of sediment that will never release to be charged again.

Charger should be fine - but the battery... well, I personally would get another only because a $70 battery is cheaper than acid burns on your boat, you, or some explosion that may occur
