So I geared up for some salmon and lake run browns since they become accessible in the harbors of Lake Michigan in the fall. I've only targetted them in tributaries but that's an all day event. I've heard that they can be had nearby so I thought I'd give it a go this morning. The first fish came about an hour in and fought nicely, I'm estimating about 4lbs and beautifully colored.
About another hour in I hooked up with a giant, when it surfaced I couldn't believe the size, one of the guys fishing nearby had a net and help me land her, I gave him both fish.
She had to be 9 or 10lbs.
The implements of destruction were:
-G.Loomis MBR844c GL3
-Shimano Curado 201B(the old green one!)
-30lb PowerPro
