I'm getting ready to start a mod on my 1544 G3. I will be using plywood and wood framing for floor and sides.
When you guys are cutting plywood for flooring and such, how much room do you allow for the thickness of the carpet??
Also, where are most of you guys getting carpet??
I see several different kinds from places like West Marine online....but I haven't gone in to look at it yet.
Any tips/thoughts/regrets you have about the carpet??
Thanks in advance.....I've already gotten some ideas from reading posts on this forum!!!

I was going 1/4" less on each side there was carpet, you only need to account for the backing since the plush will just smash up against the side making for a nice tight finish. I got mine from Home Depot online nice carpet and good price.

Heres the carpet I got its a 20' roll

You can see it on my project here

I allowed about 1/4 like previously stated. I got my carpet from Home Depot. It was 6 foot wide and it was 52 cents a sq ft. Its a good idea to water seal your plywood.

Water seal each and every cut as well, even after sealing the entire piece.

I ordered mine from Cabelas. Good stuff, no regrets here. Actually I used the better stuff for my decks and just some outdoor carpet, no backing, for the removable floors. Both have held up for 2+ seasons very well.
