Buddy and I picked up this 1987 jon and Motor for $650. Over the Winter we made a few modifications
with the help of this site. So I thought I should share the build, mostly in photos. Here she is when we picked her up.
The trailer was scrap, so we bought a new one.
Purchased some angle aluminum, plywood, rivets and screws. Started Cutting and riveting.
Added some foam.
Wired in some 6 gauge from front to back.
Made some fly rod holders.
Built a bracket for a swivel seat.
Installed a Poling Platform.
Cut out some hatches, Glued Marine Carpet.
Hinges, Latches and Struts.
Attached Front Seat.
Added non skid jet ski foat to poling platform.
Built a casting platform from a Harbor Freight step stool and mounted trolling motor.
Still not happy with old camo.
So I painted over it and installed Push pole holders.
Rebuilt carb and water pump on old motor. She is ready to be hung!
Now if our lakes would thaw!
