I did a compression test today on my 18hp johnson. I had 103# in the top cylinder and 108# in the bottom cylinder. Does anyone know what the ideal comp should be.
I know there isn't a difference in powerheads, I'm saying that a slightly lower reading from the tester is acceptable from a rope start because you'll never be able to pull it as fast as the starter will spin it, this is especially true with a bigger motor like an 18Pappy said:There were no differences between powerheads for electric start and non electric. Your numbers are good. You have a good engine to work with.
