I know the big Johnson's saltwater series are white, but did that apply to a 1994 4HP? I'm new to johnnyrudes! It's an all white motor 4HP deluxe, model J4RDHERE. Thanks!

Nope. In that era, white meant a Johnson motor, not a saltwater motor. That being said, there wouldn't be much of an issue running that motor in saltwater. People did it for years before the advent of "saltwater" motors. Make sure you have a good and clean zinc anode, and flush the motor in a bucket of freshwater after each trip, as well as the periodical hosedown of the salt deposits on the outside of the motor, and you should be good to go.
