Ok I just picked up my new to me 1448 jon. Its currently has a buddy of mine's outboard on it and he has offered to sell it to me, but I have no idea what year/model it is and neither does he. The motor has been spray painted for several years now and he has no idea what is under neath. Im not concerned to much with the paint at this point, but would like to know the age and model to make an appropriate offer. The motor runs pretty good once you get the rpms up, but it doesnt idle well at all.
The serial off the plate on the side of the lower unit is "18102S-E10472". I was originally told it was a nissan motor, but after I found the serial plate I realized it was an Evinrude...
