Here are some before and after photos of my 1856 sea-sprite Jon boat with a 50hp Tohatsu jet. It took forever to de-yellow it. It was a airport crash recovery and search boat. Fantastic river boat. I got it done just in time to get some summer small mouth and cat fishing in.

Very cool!

How do you like the Tohatsu? I thought by lookin at the Tohatsu factory specs that the 3 cyl. 2 stroke 50/35 would be a powerhouse compared to the heavy fourstrokes out now. And even over the 2 cyl. 2 strokes of a few years ago that evinrude and some others made utilizing a 50hp powerhead.

I have heard otherwise though.. Since your the only one I've see with a Tahatsu jet......Whats your opinion?

Thanks guys, It's a great river boat, low water is no problem. I love the Tohatsu 50, It's got plenty of power. Easy starting, it's well made. I've only had it out about 10 times with no troubles at all. If I had to complain about it, it would be the gas mileage (it loves fuel) but I haven't seen a jet that does get good mileage.

You never said what year the boat and motor was.I am wondering.I like it,you should put it down on the jet boat forum to so the other jet runners can see it
