Hey everyone!!! I have been lurking this site for months now and iv finally decided to take the plunge and start on my project. The boat is a 13ft applebee and is in actualy pretty good condition for it's age. I picked it up for 400$ with the trailer. I think it was a decent deal because the trailer is almost new. I'm plan a low deck up front and a deck in the rear. I'm going to be rowing the boat with oars so I don't plan on purchasing an engine. I'm a complete newb and confused on where do I start? Do I wash it? Paint it? Deck it? Iv just been staring at it for days looking for what I should do first. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! And again thank you to everyone that has contributed to the site. I love it!!!

Hey Kile. Good luck on the build. I actually just got back from Lowes and picked some outdoor carpet for my boat build. I ended up getting 60 sq ft of one the the grey colors at .53 cents a sq ft. $31 bucks is fine by me. The past weeks I looked at Bass Pro and Cabelas carpet but probably would have run me more money and stuck going with their sizes. There are many other options out there but this is what I went with.

I'm looking at the Home Depot "Perfection Grey" outdoor carper. It seems like good stuff and I've seen a few others use it around here. Hope it helps!

"Perfection Grey" seems to be sold at all the big box stores. It is the one I went with. I am very satisfied. Actually, some good scissors worked fine making the cuts. TIP: Get more than enough. It's not that expensive. I might run short so I might have to go back to the store. Otherwise, it feels good. Looks good for what it is.
