Got the boat in the water today and went to start it and noticed a fuel leak where the fuel line snaps onto the motor. Is there an easy fix for this? Do I have to buy a new connector? It is a 6 HP Evenrude 1978, has the single line to motor with a snap type plug. Lucky I had the small trolling motor to get us back to the dock. #-o

There should be an O-Ring in that connector that slides over the connector on the motor side. You can get another O-Ring and it will work. Just make sure that it stays sealed when you pump the primer bulb.

I would have thought that also, but didn't see a recess for an o-ring, just flat metal to metal.

On my connector there is an O-Ring inside the hose end that has a ball check valve behind it. As you connect the two together the pin on the motor side pushes into the connector through the O-Ring pushing the ball back which opens the line. There should be two pins on the motor side. One is the fuel line pin and the other is the locking pin.

Thanks for your help again, I will look at it tonight and see. :D

 OK I got te o-ring out, it was mangled, I have no idea what size to buy.
