When I change the lower unit oil on my motor the owner's manual says to torque the oil level plug and oil drain screw to 6.6 foot pounds. I don't have a torque wrench and don't have a clue what 6.6 foot pounds feels like. Of course I want to get it tight enough to keep water out but not so tight that I wind up it screwing it up. Do I just need to go hand tight with a big screwdriver or do I need to go out and buy a torque wrench?
