Here's a shot I got while in Georgia last weekend. Taken outside Rutledge, GA. Didn't have my Nikon with me, so took it with my wife's Pentax Optio E40 p&s I "borrowed" for the trip. Anyone have any idea what the structure in the shot was used for?

That would be my guess as well. Nice shot.

There appears to be a concrete spillway in addition to the stone abutment. Was there any signs of an old bridge or something else that could have been operated from that shack?

Thanks for the comments everyone . No signs of a previously existing bridge. The bank I took the shot from was at a higher elevation than the far bank, and where I was standing was fairly eroded-away. I did clone-out a small pipe coming out from the base of the structure, and it went into the face of the small concrete spillway. maybe (just guessing) it might have just been a real strudy structure used to cover a water-collection spot, much like a well. :-k
