Has anyone made a homemade OB motor lift strap to hoist motor onto boat?

If so can I see a picture or design? I looked at the ready made models and they do not inspire confidence.
I picked up the lift-eye for my old OMC motors. It bolts onto factory holes in the flywheel. There are 2 styles for mine. One designed to lift the whole motor and one just for the powerhead. There should be one made specifically for your motor. It's the safest and easiest way.

Cherry pickers and gantries have their place, and I have them both, but I almost always go to a MedLift I found on Craigslist for $40.
450lb capacity. Pretty mobile. Extremely useful with a Harbor Freight lifting strap.

Now that's not a bad idea at all! Thanks for posting.

Years back I needed to remove an old V4 OMC and used my garage rafters. Garage was a trussed roof, so I added a 4x4 support from floor to truss about 8 ft apart and threw a chain fall around the lower truss beam. Had my neighbor come over, he is a big boy, 6'5" weighs about 340 lbs. He grabbed the chain fall and bounced up and down a few times, solid as a rock !! Used chain fall to lift off the motor and pulled boat out from under. Dropped motor in back of a pickup for the new owner. Kicked the 4x4 supports out and put them in the corner in case I ever need them again.
