Hey everybody! Long time lurker make this account awhile ago but I finished my last boat and ended up regrettably selling it. (1958 14' valco). Anyways!! I recently picked up a new project, another valco actually. Pink slip says 71 but I have a feeling that's only Cuz the PO didn't know and it doesn't have a HIN. So yay california but I may be wrong. Lol It looks like a standard valco but some things are a little "off" here are some pictures.

Aside from the bench compartments and seating arrangements (done so well you'd think they came from factory) I'm more interested in the hull. Never really seen a smoothed bottom  Valco before and I'd like to try to figure out capacity. PLEASE HELP :D

Where are you located? Valco boats were made in Clovis, Ca and went out of business in 2004 I think. Part of their business was bought by Klamath.

All the one's I've seen are in that 13-15 foot range. Basic boats riveted boats, but well made. They are still a ton of them in Northern California. The market for older basic V hull fishing boats in this area is still dominated by Gregor, Klamath and Valco.

I live in southern california. about 45 minutes east of LA. the only reason I'm asking is because id like to get a rough idea of weigh capacity. its pretty much exactly 14' long, the beam is ~62" and at best eyeballing measurements with tape measure, its about 20" deep at the beam. I have an 68 welded crestliner thats only 2/3 as wide but that boat is rated at 25hp and around 900 pounds. i could use math to proportionate but boats don't work like that so ya. I've found maybe 2 pictures though google of the same hull design but no mention of weigh capacity. i really hope to find out so i can figure out what angle i wanna take this build. :D

Looks a lot like the valco my fishing partner and I just got. Here are the specs of our 14 foot valco.
