Johnson L/U seals

1999 115. I need to replace the 2 top seals on the drive shaft bearing housing under the water pump. Do they pop out easy enough and do I need any special tools for the job?

You can use a seal puller just fine but be careful not to gouge the aluminum housing with the tip of the puller.

As far as installation goes I have always used the special tool to get the proper depth on the seals. Not that it is that imperative, just habit.
I guess you can scan your sets of standard and metric sockets and see what would work.....up to you. Only recommendation I would make is the proper tool.
You always have the option of swinging by a dealership and asking them to do the seal install for you using the proper tool.
