kill switch on my outboard will not kill engine.i have cleaned the contacts but still doesn't work. any ideas

Henry,
That's a great link. I've been considering adding a kill switch lanyard to my small Honda that I use when trolling for Salmons. My problem is that I would want to be able to get up and fight the fish with the lanyard attached. Might end up getting all tangled up in it.

Would you rather get tangled up in the lanyard, or the prop?
I just bought one of THESE from an eBay seller for my (made by Yamaha) '85 Mariner 5 hp. I have had this motor for several years, but I thought it might be a good idea.
