I'm considering purchasing this motor. I am mechanical and can fix almost anything, but I am not sure about parts availability/$$$. The guy says it will turn over, has good compression, but has no spark. It's a V4. That's all I will know when/if I buy it.

Usually it's something small like bad spark plug wires, points and condenser, or bad connection.

I'm looking at buying this motor to replace/upgrade from my current motor. I currently have a 35HP Johnson Seahorse about the same year. The motor is OK, but I have it on my 17' jon boat that is fully decked with 3 pedestal seats for 3 adults...it just doesnt have the push. I can get this 60HP for $150.

I am not going to say you shouldn't buy it, but I will say I wouldn't for that purpose. You will likely find that the motor is equivalent in power to a modern 50, and sucks down gas like nobody's business. Not to mention, it is quite heavy. JMHO.

How did you bump my post? It showed me posting that 32 minutes ago, yet it was weeks ago. I never knew you could bump a post without posting in it. :D

I actually was trying to delete the post becasue it's no longer relavant. I think I went into "view my posts" in the upper right, clicked on the post, and then clicked Bump. Instead of deleting it, it moved it back to the top. #-o
